Annie Lennox

Annie Lennox's parents are Dorothy Farquharson and Thomas Allison Lennox. Dorothy Farquharson & Thomas Allison Lennox is the name used by her parents. Lennox, who studied for three years at the Royal Academy of Music London in the 1970s was accepted. She was able to survive on her student stipend as she worked part-time. Lennox made the decision to alter her career path following her dissatisfaction with her inexperience in contrast to others Royal Academy students. Lennox performed flute in the 1976 group called Dragons Playground. She quit the band shortly before New Faces, the I.T.V. talent competition. She sang lead to The Tourists (a British popband) between 1977 and 1980. Here she met Dave Stewart who would later join Eurythmics. Lennox was later able to record her debut solo album Diva. The E.P. is her first independent album and a companion to an art installation she created at Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art called Now I Let You Go...
